AI-Readiness Checker

What makes a page ready for AI search?

AI search tools such as Google's AI Overviews, ChatGPT search and Perplexity retrieve pages before they answer. A page has a better chance of being used when the right crawlers can reach it, its content is in plain HTML, it's clearly structured, and it says plainly who is behind it. This checker looks at those signals on one page.

What we check

Access

The page loads, isn't noindex, doesn't restrict snippets, lets AI search crawlers in, and has its content in the HTML.

Understanding

A descriptive title and meta description, one H1, clear subheadings, valid JSON-LD, Organization or LocalBusiness markup, sameAs links and a declared language.

Trust and citability

A named author, a date, a short opening paragraph that answers the main question, question-style headings, and an llms.txt file.

Frequently asked questions

Does a high score mean AI tools will cite my page?

No. The score measures signals we can see that make a page easier to reach, understand and quote. Whether an AI tool cites it also depends on the question, the competition, your reputation and each tool's own systems, none of which anyone outside those companies controls.

How is the score worked out?

Each check has a weight. A pass earns its full weight, a warning half, and a problem nothing; information-only checks (such as llms.txt) don't count. The score is the share of available points, out of 100. Pages that don't load or are set to noindex are capped at 30.

Does this use AI to judge my content?

No. Every check is a rule applied to the page's HTML, headers, robots.txt and /llms.txt, so the same page always gets the same result and you can see exactly why.

Why does it say my content needs JavaScript?

We read the HTML your server sends, without running scripts. Many AI crawlers do the same. If most of your text only appears after JavaScript runs, those crawlers may see an almost empty page. Server-side rendering or static HTML fixes this.

My structured data isn't detected. Why?

We read JSON-LD in the HTML the server sends. Markup injected by JavaScript (for example by a tag manager) or written as microdata isn't counted. Check it with Google's Rich Results Test, which renders the page.

Is AI readiness different from normal SEO?

Mostly not. Google says its AI features need no special optimisation beyond being indexable and eligible for a snippet. The extra things here, such as allowing AI search crawlers and clear entity markup, matter because other AI tools use their own crawlers and indexes.

FindSEO isn't affiliated with Google, OpenAI, Anthropic, Perplexity or any other AI company. This tool only fetches the page you enter, its site's robots.txt and /llms.txt. The score is an indication, not a guarantee of inclusion in any AI product.
